Lago di Resia — Submerged Church Tower

Lake Resia (Reschensee) near the Austrian border was created in 1950 when a dam flooded the old village of Curon (Graun). Only the 14th-century bell tower survives above the water — a surreal image visible from the shore path year-round. In winter the lake freezes and the tower rises from the ice. The lost village is remembered by survivors.
