Formed by a 1959 dam on the Salso river, Lago di Pozzillo stretches over 5 km through rolling wheat country between Regalbuto and Agira — the largest reservoir in Sicily by capacity. Reed beds and seasonal wetland fringe the shallows, drawing herons and migrating waterfowl, with dirt tracks along parts of the shore for a quiet walk away from the coast.
