Lago di Montorfano near Cantù is a small natural moraine lake (12 ha) with no motorised boats and exceptional water clarity. White water lily covers much of the shallow eastern bay. Great crested grebe, little grebe and mallard breed. The lake is a nature reserve and swimming is permitted in summer. A flat 4 km circuit takes 1.5 hours — ideal for dogs and families.
