Riserva Naturale del Lago di Cornino

This small, strikingly turquoise lake below Monte Prat has been the centre of a successful griffon vulture reintroduction programme since the 1980s, and dozens of the huge birds can often be seen wheeling on thermals above the reserve or perched on the cliffs. A visitor centre and hides let people watch feeding and nesting behaviour without disturbing the colony.
