Lago di Chamolé (2,250 m) above Bionaz in the Valpelline is a remote alpine lake reached by a 3-hour climb from the valley. The lake is a natural cirque lake above the Barrage de Place Moulin. The Valpelline above leads to the Great St Bernard watershed. Ibex colony on the surrounding cliffs. Golden eagle hunting. The Bionaz reservoir below is blue-green. Dogs off-leash.
