Lago di Bilancino (261 m) in the Mugello valley is the lake of Florence — an artificial reservoir completed in 1995 supplying water to the city. The lake has a dog beach (Spiaggia di Barberino) and sailing. Osprey visits in spring migration. The Apennine ridge above has the ski resort of Monte Cucco. The Mugello valley is Ferrari country (the Autodromo del Mugello is 10 km away). Dogs welcome.
