Lago di Barcis

Dammed in the 1950s, this lake fills a valley at the southern edge of the Dolomiti Friulane park with vividly clear, blue-green water that changes shade with the light and season. The small village of Barcis sits at its edge with a distinctive church reflected in the water, and the surrounding limestone peaks rise steeply straight from the shoreline.
