Lago di Ancipa

Also known as Lago Sartori, this reservoir was created between 1950 and 1952 by one of Sicily's tallest dams, on the Troina torrent in the Nebrodi foothills. Forest tracks follow parts of the shore between Troina and Cerami, with golden eagles and kites overhead and, occasionally, freshwater turtles in the shallows.
