Lago di Alleghe
Veneto
Lago di Alleghe was created when a massive rockfall dammed the Cordevole river in 1771. The resulting lake mirrors the Civetta wall (the 'Wall of the Walls') and the distant Marmolada glacier. A flat lakeside path circles the village of Alleghe — all geraniums and painted shutters.
