From the Terme di Valdieri a steep path climbs to Rifugio Questa on the shore of Lago delle Portette at 2,400 m, then loops on to the Lago del Frisson and back. A hard but classic Maritime Alps day, deep in ibex and chamois country with a chance of the returning wolf's tracks.
