The Accesa fills a set of coalesced sinkholes in the mining hills near Massa Marittima, its clear blue-green water fed and drained underground, warm enough to swim. A flat path loops the shore past reedbeds and the excavated Etruscan settlement and necropolis of Accesa, set in cork oak and heath.
