Lago del Moro (1,536 m) above Macugnaga in the Anzasca valley is a moraine-dammed lake with aquamarine glacial meltwater below the Monte Rosa east face — the view of the 2,000 m wall from the lake shore is one of the most dramatic in the Alps. Ibex visible on the moraine slopes above. The lake is reached from Macugnaga in 45 minutes. Dogs welcome on the path.
