Lago d'Idro — Alta Via
Lombardy
Lago d'Idro is Italy's highest navigable lake at 368 m, and its floor is below sea level (−12 m) due to glacial over-deepening. The Alta Via above the eastern shore rises to 1,200 m with views across to the Adamello glacier and Brenta Dolomites. The lake water is the cleanest in Lombardy. The village of Anfo has a Venetian fortress on a lakeside cliff.
