Lago Combal, Val Veny
Aosta Valley
Lago Combal at the head of Val Veny fills a moraine basin below the Miage glacier. The Mont Blanc massif towers 2,500 m above and reflects in the lake at dawn. The Miage glacier snout reaches the lake shore — a rare low-altitude glacier terminus. This is also the TMB route, but early morning the lake is deserted.
