The Calamone sits at about 1,400 m in a hollow scooped by ice below the pyramid of Monte Ventasso, its still water backed by beech and the odd wind-bent conifer. A near-level path circles it in half an hour; the Ventasso summit and the ridge to Cerreto Laghi make longer options.
