Lago di Beauregard

Dammed in the 1950s, Lago di Beauregard now fills much of the floor of Valgrisenche, one of the region's quietest and most traditional valleys, still known for the black-and-white check wool once woven by local weavers. A path along the reservoir's edge gives views toward the Rutor and Grande Sassière glaciers at the valley's head. The village of Valgrisenche itself retains stone-roofed houses largely untouched by the tourism development seen elsewhere in the region.
