Laghi Alimini

Puglia

One lake here is freshwater-fed and the other brackish, connected to the sea, and together they support reed beds, waterlilies, and a rich array of birdlife including herons and the occasional flamingo passing through. A pine-shaded track separates the lagoons from the sandy beach just beyond the dunes.
