Laghetti di Monticolo (Montiggler Seen), Appiano

The Grande and Piccolo Monticolo lakes sit at 500 m in mixed oak-and-pine wood on the porphyry slope below the Mendola. A flat 6 km path circles both, past a nature-trail boardwalk, small beaches and the Bird-and-Forest educational centre, with the Dolomites glimpsed to the east.
