The Laghetti di Cancano (Lago di Cancano and Lago di San Giacomo) at 1,950 m above Bormio are two alpine reservoirs with extraordinary mountain scenery — ibex regularly seen on the dam road, chamois grazing the shores. The Ortler group (3,905 m) rises above. The Valfurva road to the lake is closed to traffic — the circuit is 7 km. Golden eagle. Dogs off-leash.
