Lago di Lozon, Gran San Bernardo
Aosta Valley
The Lago di Lozon (2,350 m) above the Gran San Bernardo pass on the Swiss border is a glacial lake surrounded by ibex territory — a resident ibex colony descends to the lake in summer. Chamois are everywhere. The Swiss border is 2 km. The famous Hospice du Grand Saint-Bernard (1,000 years of hospitality) is below on the pass. The St Bernard dog breed was developed there. Dogs welcome.
