Levanzo — Grotta del Genovese Walk

Levanzo, the smallest of the Egadi islands, has no cars, 200 inhabitants and the Grotta del Genovese — a sea cave with Palaeolithic engravings (c.10,000 BC) of dolphins, deer and humanoid figures. The cave was discovered in 1949. The island path circuit (6 km) passes through Mediterranean maquis with views to Favignana and Tunisia. Loggerhead turtle nests on the rocky beaches.
