Isola di Vivara

Vivara is the exposed rim of a sunken volcanic crater linked to Procida by a narrow pedestrian bridge, its Mediterranean scrub and pine woods protected as a state nature reserve with limited daily visitor numbers. Bronze Age archaeological finds here are some of the earliest evidence of Mycenaean contact with Italy. Peregrine falcons and Eleonora's falcons both nest on the cliffs.
