The Monte Epomeo (789 m) ridge traverse on Ischia's northwest side is the full circuit of the island's volcanic summit. Tuff caves cut by hermit monks are visible in the cliffs; thermal springs at Casamicciola emerge from the base. The view from the ridge includes Vesuvius, Capri, Procida and the entire Bay of Naples.
