Dug in the 1930s as a seaplane basin and now the "sea of Milan", the Idroscalo is a 2.5 km sheet of water ringed by lawns, poplars and a level path used by runners, rowers and families. The southern end has a fenced off-leash area and a dog beach where swimming is allowed.
