Grotte di Castellana

Puglia

The Grotte di Castellana are the most visited cave system in Italy: 3 km of galleries at 70 m depth, discovered in 1938. The route ends in the Grotta Bianca — a 45 m high chamber of white calcite stalactites and stalagmites so pure they appear carved from snow. The temperature is a constant 15°C year-round.
