Grotte di Camerano

Marche

Under Camerano, on the Conero ridge, generations cut a labyrinth of sandstone galleries, domed halls and carved reliefs used over centuries as cellars, quarries, cisterns and wartime shelters. Guided tours thread a section of it; the rest still runs unmapped beneath the houses.
