Grotte del Bussento

The Bussento river disappears into a cave mouth here and travels underground for several kilometres before resurfacing near Caselle in Pittari, a striking piece of Cilento karst hydrology. The reserve trail follows the river to the point where it vanishes, through a gorge thick with Mediterranean vegetation and birdlife.
