Grotta delle Torri di Slivia
Friuli-Venezia Giulia
On the Carso plateau above Trieste, this small show cave takes its name from two natural limestone pillars flanking the entrance, and offers an easy introduction to the region's intensely karstified landscape without the scale (or crowds) of the Grotta Gigante nearby. Stalactite formations are modest but well preserved. The surrounding Karst scrubland is good for spring wildflowers.
