The Grotta di Seiano (also called Crypta Neapolitana) is a 770 m tunnel carved through the tuff hill of Posillipo to connect the Roman villas on both sides — built in the 1st century BC. The tunnel is 5 m wide and up to 15 m tall, entirely carved by hand. It was used continuously until the 18th century. Access is via guided tour only (Park of Posillipo). Dogs on leash.
