The Grotta di San Biagio near Pietravalle in the Biferno valley is a cave church with medieval frescoes carved into a limestone cliff — almost completely unknown outside the region. The cave has a spring inside revered since pre-Christian times. The path to the cave follows the Biferno gorge. Dipper and grey wagtail on the river. One of Molise's most atmospheric hidden sites.
