The Grotta della Spipola opens at the bottom of a large doline (sinkhole) in the Croara hamlet, part of the same gypsum-karst park whose Grotte del Farneto entrance is covered elsewhere in this guide — Spipola is the park's signature cave, with a natural entrance (the Buco del Calzolaio) and a separate artificial one used for guided visits. The walk down into the wooded sinkhole is level and shaded.
