Sunlight refracting through the underwater entrance gives this small sea cave near Sperlonga a striking blue glow, best seen on calm, sunny mornings by boat from the town's beach. Just along the coast, the ruins of Emperor Tiberius's villa incorporate a natural grotto once decorated with elaborate marble sculpture groups, some now displayed in a small on-site museum. Sperlonga's whitewashed old town sits above both sites on a rocky headland.
