Gressoney-Saint-Jean — Walser Belvedere

Gressoney-Saint-Jean was settled by German-speaking Walser migrants centuries ago, and its dark-wood houses, raised granaries and dialect still set it apart from the French-Italian mix of the rest of the Aosta Valley. A path above the village gives a clear view of Monte Rosa's glaciers filling the valley head.
