Gravina di Palagianello

Puglia

The Gravina di Palagianello slices 60 m into the limestone right beside the town, its walls honeycombed with a "casale" of rupestrian houses, cisterns and frescoed rock churches — San Girolamo, Santi Andrea e Procopio — with the Stella castle on the rim. Paths follow both sides and drop to the streambed.
