Above Fara San Martino, famous for its pasta factories drawing water straight from the mountain, this gorge splits the Majella massif into two towering walls barely visible to the sky. The trail threads scree slopes and via ferrata-style cable sections before opening onto high pastures where Apennine chamois often browse.
