Gole di Pietrapertosa
Basilicata
Below the Dolomiti Lucane villages, this narrow ravine cuts through soft arenaria rock, forming small pools and short scrambles shaded by holm oak. It's far quieter than the main ridge trail above and offers close-up views of the wind-carved formations the area is known for. Local shepherds still use adjacent tracks to move flocks between pastures.
