Gole del Raganello — Sentiero dei Saraceni

The upper approach to the Gole del Raganello from Civita (an Arbëreshë village — an Albanian community in Calabria since 1471) crosses the canyon rim with dramatic views 400 m down. The Sentiero dei Saraceni follows the gorge edge through oak scrub. Peregrine falcon, Egyptian vulture (rare) and eagle owl all nest in the canyon walls. The Arbëreshë cultural experience in Civita adds a unique dimension.
