Gola di Pioraco
Marche
Above the town of Pioraco, the Potenza river tightens into a genuine gorge, its walls closing in far more dramatically than the gentle valley downstream would suggest. The trail follows the riverbank through a mix of scrub and shaded rock overhangs, with the sound of the water amplified by the narrow walls. It connects, further downstream, to the town's well-known waterfall and paper-mill heritage.
