Gola del Cellina, Pordenone

The Gola del Cellina near Barcis in the Friulian Prealps is a dramatic limestone gorge with the Cellina river far below — a 1920s road for the Vajont dam works is now closed to vehicles and open only to hikers and cyclists. The green water of the Cellina is visible through gaps in the gorge wall. Egyptian vulture (rare) has been recorded. Dipper on the boulders below. Dogs off-leash on the road.
