On an old gravel-pit terrace of the Po, the Garzaia di Valenza holds a colony of grey and purple herons, night herons, egrets and cormorants nesting in flooded white poplar. A flat path on the flood bank, with a hide, lets you watch the constant traffic of birds without disturbing them.
