Arcipelago della Maddalena — Palau Walk

Sardinia

The granite headlands above Palau in the Gallura — north-east Sardinia — are sculpted by the maestrale wind into zoomorphic forms. The most famous is the Roccia dell'Orso (Bear Rock), a 3 m natural granite bear visible from 10 km offshore. Garibaldi spent his final years on the island of Caprera here, now a museum.
