Forza d'Agrò sits higher and more dramatically than nearby Savoca, its Norman-era castle ruins and church perched almost at the summit of a sheer ridge with sweeping views down to the sea and up toward the Peloritani mountains. The climb through the stepped stone lanes is genuinely steep in places.
