Forte Diamante, Genova

A triangular 18th-century fort crowns a sharp peak north of the city, the finest goal on the "forts" walk. From the Righi or Trensasco the path follows the old military ring road along a green ridge, with Genova and its harbour on one side and the Polcevera valley on the other, to the isolated Diamante.
