The Forra del Cellina above Montereale Valcellina is a 300 m deep limestone gorge — the deepest in the Friulian Pre-Alps. An ancient Roman road (Via Iulia Augusta) follows the gorge floor. Peregrine and golden eagle nest on the walls. The Cellina river emerges from the Alps crystal clear. A UNESCO Geopark. Dogs off-leash on the gorge path.
