Bosco di Morra, Val Nerina

The Bosco di Morra above Scheggino has management records dating to 1350 AD — one of the oldest continuously managed community forests in Italy. The forest is cerro oak (Quercus cerris) and pubescent oak — excellent truffle oak habitat. Black truffle (Tuber melanosporum) is harvested here from November to March. Wolf and wild cat both confirmed. The forest floor has wild narcissus in March.
