Foresta di Pixinamanna, Sulcis
Sardinia
Pixinamanna spreads over the granite hills of the Sulcis — some of the largest holm-oak forest in the Mediterranean — cut by the Rio Is Cioffus with its pools and small falls. Level forest roads make loops from the barracks-turned-visitor-base, and the reintroduced Sardinian deer are often heard belling in autumn.
