Foresta di Gallipoli Cognato
Basilicata
The Parco Regionale di Gallipoli Cognato combines the surreal rock towers of the Piccole Dolomiti Lucane with an ancient Downy Oak forest. The park has one of the highest density of wild orchid species in the south, a wild deer population and confirmed wolf territory — all within a landscape almost completely unknown to outsiders.
