The Foresta Demaniale dei Sette Fratelli (10,000 ha) is the largest state forest in Sardinia and the main stronghold of the Sardinian deer (cervo sardo) subspecies. The seven granite peaks (1,000 m) give the forest its name. Mouflon, golden eagle and Bonelli's eagle are all present. The forest is 40 km from Cagliari and receives virtually no visitors. Dogs off-leash on the forest roads.
