The Foce del Piave at Cortellazzo north of Jesolo is the mouth of the Piave river — called the 'sacred river' from the WWI battle of the Piave (1918). The delta has active dune habitat with sea holly and marram grass. Little tern nesting colony on the dunes — one of the largest in the Veneto. Kentish plover. The brackish lagoon has flamingo in spring. Dogs welcome off the nesting areas.
