Eremo di San Domenico
Abruzzo
Built into a niche in the cliff face overlooking the narrow Tasso gorge, this tiny hermitage marks where San Domenico is said to have lived among wolves and serpents. The approach path from Villalago clings to the rock above the turquoise river, giving one of the best framed views in the Sagittario valley.
